Is it Time to Start Thinking About Christmas Shopping?

Posted on August 23, 2020 at 10:04 am

Are you sick of being broke in December and the following January because of Christmas? So many people wait until the last few weeks, before Christmas, to start their shopping and this is a big mistake! You should be considering Christmas shopping now or at least start planning so you can keep an eye out for sales, scheduling these items into your budget and getting the best deals, instead of panic buying at the last minute. What you can be doing now:

1. Make a list of who you want to buy for.

2. Decide how much you want to spend for each person.

3. Check what your budget will allow for from now until Christmas.

4. Create the list of items you intend to buy, check around multiple shops to see which one offers this item at the best price.

5. Mark dates on your calendar of when you are going to buy these items.

6. Budget these items in or start saving for more costly items.

7. If you are realizing you can’t afford to buy as much as you want, think about what you can make for someone. Christmas is meant to be a happy and joyful time of year. You should not let gift giving stress you out or over-extend your budget, putting you in a financial bind.
